چکیده
Objective: To evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of bedside tests for prediction difficult airway scheduled for ophthalmological surgeries under general anesthesia. Methods: This prospective study was carried out at Armed Forces Institute Ophthalmology, Rawalpindi, Pakistan from March 2020 to October 2020. All pediatric adult patients with American society of anesthesiologist grade I IV undergoing elective anesthesia were consecutively enrolled. Mallampati grading, sternomental, thyromental distance, mouth opening used as the predictors tools whereas Cormack Lehane (CL) classification validated on table laryngoscopy. Grade II were assigned as easy laryngoscopy III declared intubation. Results: Of 232 patients, intubation observed in 36 (15.5%). Sensitivity thyromental distance 80.5% 99.4% respectively. Whereas 66.6% was 99.4%. In case sternomental corresponded 61.6% 100% respectively. The Modified Grading 97.2% 96.4% The relationship between CL grading MMC showed that all had Malampati I, i.e., 28 (100%), while IV, 7 (100%).Conclusion: Bedside prove be useful parameters pre-anesthesia assessment among which test is most sensitive specific, subsequently ensuring availability of difficult equipment, a focus concern third world countries.

UNLABELLED The aim of the study was to determine the predicting tests for difficult airway and difficult intubation in apparently normal patients. METHODS We were using the literature about the specific tests for predicting difficult airway and single parameters that could be a significant test for prediction of difficult or impossible intubation. Clinical risk factors for difficult intubatio...
